what does a caesura do?

parallelism
the selective repetition of a word or a structure with some changes
what does repetition do?
calls attention to the ways that the things being compared are similar or different, it can also be used to highlight irony
anaphora
the repetition of the same word at the beginning of multiple lines of poetry
what does an anaphora do?
it calls attention to similarities and differences across different ideas
paradox
a statement that seems contradictory, but reveals a deeper or more profound truth
juxtaposition
the placement of two contrasting images, ideas, or words in order to highlight their differences or similarities
alliteration
the repetition of a sound at the beginning of words at a short interval
