- IMPARFAIT VS PASSÉ COMPOSÉ - imparfait describes a period of time in the past that is more vague, it didn’t necessarily end. Passe Composé describes a situation that happened and ended in the past. The difference between I was eating dinner vs. I ate dinner. Imparfait can be used to describe a setting when something happened. Imparfait is also used to describe emotions (not actions). OR what people USED TO DO, as in she used to drive a motorcycle.
- IMPARFAIT - take nous stem and add endings: ais, ais, ait, ions, iez, aient.
- PRONUNCIATION - C’s and G’s are hard when an O, A, or U comes after them (ex: Légumes, ouragan vs. mange)
