Life changes drastically for the Samsa family following Gregor's death. They no longer needed a cleaning lady nor did they rent rooms of their home. They were also now able to move to a new place. They also seemed happier and more together.

The book shows that Gregor needed to go away more than his sister, which suggest that Gregor's death would.

What in your opinion, caused Gregor's transformation?

I think Gregor's transformation was meant to teach him a lesson about being disconnected from his family. I think that this was meant to show him what isolation from his family is like, kind of like a punishment. It ended up causing him to become depressed killing him.
