EMG
Electromyography; recording of electrical muscle activity
Motor Unit
One motor neuron and all the muscle fibers it innervates
Recruitment
Increasing muscle force by activating additional motor units.
Muscle Tonus
A constant slight contraction of muscles even at rest
Tetany
A sustained muscle contraction caused by rapid repeated stimulation
where the muscle does not relax between contractions.
Amplitude
The height of the EMG signal, representing the strength of muscle contraction.
Duration
The length of time the EMG signal lasts, representing how long the muscle contraction lasts.
Muscle Fatigue
50% of maximum force.
Time to Fatigue
The amount of time it takes to reach 50% of maximum force
Mean (x̄)
A statistical measure, calculated as x̄ = Σx / n.
Delta T (Δt)
Represents the change in time, calculated as Δt = time₂ − time₁.
