set of interconnected parts that work together to serve a specific purpose
Specialization
In any system, different parts have different functions; the parts work together to operate the entire system. Occurs at all biological levels of organization

Very large molecules such as fast, proteins, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids

small parts inside a cell. EX: nucleus, mitochondria
Cell
fundamental building block of all living- things
Tiissue
Made of of several cells such as skin
Organs
Two or more tissues creating a distinct shape with a distinct function (Liver, eye, stomach, flower)
Organ System
Two or more organs working as a unit to perform a function : Digestive system, Cardiovascular system.
Organisim
Consists of all the systems working together

Prokaryotes
Simple cells, no nucleus, no mebrane-bound organelles, DNA floats freely, usually very small. (Bacteria)
Eukaryotes
More complex cells, have nucleus, have organelles, usually larger (Plants, fungi)
