What is an infinite population?
A population having an infinite number of units or individuals, such as the outcomes of successive coin tosses.
What does 'sample' mean in statistics?
A representative and considerably small part of the population, selected to represent the larger group.
What is the difference between qualitative and quantitative variables?
Qualitative variables cannot be expressed in numerical form (e.g., hair color), while quantitative variables can be measured numerically (e.g., height).
What is the definition of primary data?
Data obtained by direct observations from the population or sample, considered raw and original.
What is the nominal scale of measurement?
A scale that classifies data into mutually exclusive categories without any logical order, such as religion or marital status.
What is a histogram?
A bar graph that represents frequency distribution by plotting bars at the exact lower limits of classes.
Define range in the context of statistics.
It is determined by the difference between the highest and lowest values in a data set.
What is the purpose of cumulative frequency?
To provide the total number of observations that are less than or equal to specified amounts.
What is the mean in statistics?
The average of a set of values, calculated by summing the values and dividing by the number of observations.
What is the mode in statistics?
The most frequently occurring value in a given distribution of data.
