What are the parts of the cvs
heart, blood vessels, blood
Function of the cvs
gas exchange, nutrient exchange, waste exchange and homeostasis
The 3 circulations?
Pulmonary, systemic, coronary
right side of the heart, where does blood come from and go?
Right side of the heart receives deox blood that comes from the body (superior vena cava and inferior vena cava) and goes to the lungs (pulmonary arteries to get oxygen)
Left side of the heart where does blood come from and go?
Left side of the heart receives oxy blood from the lungs (pulmonary veins) and goes to the body (aorta) to supply oxygen to tissues)
Systemic circulation
carries oxygenated blood from the left side of the heart to the body and returns deox blood back to heart
Pulmonary circulation
carries deoxygenated blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs to get oxygen, then returns oxygenated blood to the heart .
coronary circulation
supplies oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle itself
