Trapezius

Proximal attachment: superior nuchal line/external occipital protuberance of occipital bone, nuchal ligament, spinous processes of CV7-TV12

Distal attachment: posterior border of lateral clavicle, acromion and spine of scapula

Latissimus Dorsi

Proximal attachment: spinous processes of TV7-TV12, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, ribs 9-12

Distal attachment: floor of intertubercular groove

Levator Scapulae

Proximal attachment: transverse processes of CV1-CV4

Distal attachment: medial border of scapula from superior angle to base of spine

Rhomboid Minor

Proximal attachment: nuchal ligament, spinous processes of CV7-TV1

Distal attachment: medial border of scapula at the base of the spine

Rhomboid Major

Proximal attachment: spinous processes of TV2-TV5

Distal attachment: medial border of scapula from base of the spine to inferior angle

Deltoid

Proximal attachment: lateral anterior border of the clavicle, acromion and spine of the scapula

Distal attachment: deltoid tuberosity of the humerus

Teres Major

Proximal attachment: posterior surface of inferior angle of scapula

Distal attachment: medial lip of intertubercular groove of humerus

Supraspinatus

Proximal attachment: supraspinous fossa of scapula

Distal attachment: greater tubercle of humerus

Infraspinatus

Proximal attachment: infraspinous fossa

Distal attachment: greater tubercle of humerus

Teres Minor

Proximal attachment: middle part of lateral border of the scapula

Distal attachment: greater tubercle of the humerus

Subscapularis

Proximal attachment: subscapular fossa of scapula

Distal attachment: lesser tubercle of humerus

Pectoralis Major

Proximal attachment: anterior border of the medial clavicle, anterior surface of the sternum, costal cartilage of ribs 1-6, aponeurosis of external oblique muscle

Distal attachment: lateral lip of intertubercular groove on humerus

Pectoralis Minor

Proximal attachment: costal cartilage of ribs 3-5

Distal attachment: coracoid process of the scapula

Subclavius

Proximal attachment: junction of rib 1 and costal cartilage

Distal attachment: middle, inferior surface of clavicle

Serratus Anterior

Proximal attachment: lateral portion of ribs 1-8

Distal attachment: anterior surface of medial border of scapula

Biceps Brachii

Proximal attachment:

• Short Head: coracoid process of the scapula

• Long Head: supraglenoid tubercle of the scapula

Distal attachment: radial tuberosity and bicipital aponeurosis

Brachialis

Proximal attachment: anterior surface of middle-distal humerus

Distal attachment: coronoid process and tuberosity of the ulna

Coracobrachialis

Proximal attachment: coracoid process of the scapula

Distal attachment: medial surface of the humerus

Triceps Brachii

Proximal attachment:

• Long head: infraglenoid tubercle of scapula

• Lateral head: posterior surface of humerus proximal to radial groove

• Medial head: posterior surface of humerus distal to radial groove

Distal attachment: olecranon of ulna, antebrachial fascia

Anconeus

Proximal attachment: lateral epicondyle of humerus

Distal attachment: proximal, posterior surface of olecranon of ulna
