Types of phyllotaxy

1. alternate phyllotaxy

If single leaf arises on a node and leaves of alternate node lies alternate to each other. eg.Hibiscus

2. opposite phyllotaxy

If pair of leaves arises on a node and lies opposite to each other. eg. Ocimum

If opposite leaves on adjacent nodes lies on same plane known as superposed opposite phyllotaxy
