2 or more computers that are connected that can communicate and share rescources

Some 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of a computer network

Adv-All computers can be updated from a point

They can share periferal devices(printers)

Disadv-large networks require large network manager

if 1 computer gets affected all others do aswell

What are LAN and WAN give 2 key differences

LAN-local area network that is located geographically close (eg: a building) can can be owned by a network owner

WAN-wide area network it has a large geographical area and can be found in multiple sites

What is network performance

The time which data takes to be sent through a network

Bandwidth(how much is being sent)

No of user-can it cause collision

What is a server?

servers are high end computers that are specialised to perform specific tasks

What are the 6 types of Servers

1)it can be accessed centrally

computers can be monitored

2)if the server is down then everything connected to the server is down

All computers have equal status

connected directly to eachother

no central server there

adv:Easy to set up

No central maintenacnce needed

Dis adv: All updates need to be done individally
