Define Stress
Stress is a natural and automatic responses to tasks and expectations.
Define chronic stress
A stress that occurs over long periods of time that don’t reduce but rather worsen effects on the mind and body, Chronic stress can be repeated or constant.
Describe the flight or fight response.
These are signals to increase heart rate, blood pressure, quicken breathing, and the heightening of senses, disrupting balance. It floods your body with adrenaline or cortisol.

The nervous system and specifically the SNS ( sympathetic nervous system)
Describe the physical responses to the increased levels of hormones
This can trigger fight or flight. faster heart rate, blood flow to muscles, and energy release (adrenaline/cortisol). Pupils can dialate, increase in heart rates, muscle tension, boosted amounts of energy.
Describe how chronic stress can lead to cardiovascular disease. (paragraph)
When chronic stress occurs, the body is always in a form of fight or flight. This means the body is constantly releasing cortisol and adrenaline. This leads to constant high heart rate levels, increases in blood sugar, and adds strain to the heart. Additionally, your body starts to store more fat because cortisol levels are high. High cortisol can lead to hunger because onne’s body may think they need more energy to sustain the high heart rates and blood sugars and this leads to more fat being stored.
Identify and define physical stress symptoms
Physical symptoms are the state of your body and the condition that your body is in. An example is body can feel tired. Headaches, tight chests, nauseated, muscle tension, stomach pains, and inconsistent sleep patterns.
Identify and define cognitive stress symptoms
Cognitive symptoms are how one processes thoughts. Some symptoms are the inability to focus, memory, and racing thoughts.
identify and define emotional stress symptoms
Emotion stress symptoms has to do with feelings and how you manage feelings. Some examples are anger, anxiety, sadness.
identify and define behavioral stress symptoms.
Behavioral symptoms has everything to do with your actions. Eating more or less is behavioral. Someone who cries is behaving because it is something that you do. Isolating yourself.
Causes of Stress
*Identify the two (2) causes of stress and give examples of each
External is one cause of stress: This is origins from outside your control. Some examples are school, work, friends, family, environments, sports.
Internal is the other cause of stress: Self inflicted stress. Some examples is always seeking for perfection, negative talk, and overthinking.
*Identify the concept of the Think-Feel-Do cycle
The idea that feelings relate to thoughts and actions relate to feelings.
Why is anger secondary.
Because it stems from emotions such as shame and guilt which are primary.

Green zone: Good stress, stress that helps motivate. Yellow zone: Reacting starting to have mild stress and irratibility. Orange zone: Stress is starting to interfere with mental and physical health. Red zone: starting to feel burnt out and symptoms are at its worst point.

Green: Motivation. This phrase is the basis of this zone, stress is good when it will motivate you to finish, do or complete something.
Yellow Zone: Warning sign. This zone is when stress may start to feel overwhelming and it is important to catch it early.
