Water Cycle

How does water move through the cycle

  1. Precipitation occurs over land and ocean

  2. Transpiration occurs (water evaporates from plants) retiring water to air in a gaseous form

  3. Evaporation occurs from bodies of water and turns into a gaseous form

  4. Seepage/Perculation occurs (like underground runoff) moving water underground into a body of water

  5. Runoff occurs moving water from on land to off land

  6. Condensation occurs in collecting the water vapours in the air and returning them to a liquid state once they become too dense for the air

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • the water cycle moves through the motions using the heat from the Sun

  • Aquafers, fraking and the garbage patches all effect water quality and contamination

  • only 1.2 % of the water on Earth is drinkable

  • Water is apart of every cell and molecule
