What is theft?
stealing something with intention of permanently depriving owner of it
What is handling stolen goods?
receiving, retaining, disposing of, or realising goods for the benefit of another, or arranging to do so, with knowledge or belief that the goods are stolen
What is burglary?
illegal entry of a building with intent to commit a crime, especially theft.
What is aggravated burglary?
burglary committed while the perpetrator has a firearm, imitation firearm, weapon of offence, or explosive with them.
What is robbery?
stealing from a person by using or threatening force.
What is blackmail?
making an unwarranted demand with menaces (threats), with the intention of gaining for oneself or causing loss to another
What is fraud?
dishonestly making a false representation (statement), failing to disclose information, or abusing a position of trust to make a gain or cause a loss
What is wasting police time?
an offence that occurs when a person knowingly causes "wasteful employment of the police" by making a false report about a crime, giving false information during an investigation, or creating a false sense of apprehension about the safety of people or property
What is perverting the course of justice?
to deliberately interfere with or obstruct the legal system through actions such as fabricating evidence, intimidating witnesses, or lying to the police.
What is perjury?
the offence of wilfully telling an untruth or making a misrepresentation under oath.
What is murder?
the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.
What is manslaughter?
the unlawful killing of another person without the intent to kill or cause serious harm, driving with excess alcohol - this is drink driving, it means they are over the legal limit to drive but may not mean that the defendant was ‘drunk’
