What is a hypothesis?
An educated guess
What is a controlled experiment?
experiment in which only one variable is changed
What is a variable?
any factor in an experiment that can be changed or tested.
What is an independent variable?
factor in an experiment that a scientist changes
What is a dependent variable?
The dependent variable is the variable that is measured
What is a fixed variable?
variable that does not change

An experiment that you compare your results to

a study where the researcher does not control any variable, but observes as they naturally exist.
