What are the functions of the skin ?
Provides protective membrane
lubricates and cools the body through skin glands.

What are the three layers of the skin?
Epidermis- outermost layer of skin (thin cellular membrane).
Dermis- middle layer of skin (contains dense fibrous, connective tissue and nerve endings.)
Subcutaneous tissue- innermost layer of the skin, containing fat tissue.
Apocrine sweat gland
One of the largest dermal exocrine glands located in the axilla and genital areas.
Basal layer
the deepest region of the epidermis, gives rise to all epidermal cells.
