CCC Civilian Conservation Corps
Provided jobs for young men to plant trees, build bridges and parks, and set up flood control projects.
TVA Tennessee Valley Authority
Built dams to provide cheap electric power to seven southern states, set up schools and health center.
FERA Federal Emergency Relief Administration

AAA Agriculture Adjustment Administration
Paid farmers to destroy surplus and limit production.
NRA National Recovery Administration
Enforced codes that regulated wages, prices, and working conditions.
PWA Public Works Administration
Built ports, schools, airports, dams, hospitals, aircraft carriers et al (Famous projects: Triborough Bridge, Florida Keys Highway, Grand Coulee Dam, Lincoln Tunnel).
FDIC Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
Insured savings accounts in banks approved by the government (initially $2500 then $5,000, now $250,000).
REA Rural Electrification Administration
Loaned money to extend electricity to rural areas. In 1935, only 10% of rural homes had electricity. By 1940, 40% gained electricity. By 1950 90% had electric power.
WPA Works Progress Administration
Employed men and women to build hospitals, schools, parks, and airports. Employed artists, writers, and musicians in public projects. Work relief organization. (Famous projects: LaGuardia Airport, Camp David, American Guide Series, Cooperstown Doubleday field renovation)
SSA Social Securities Administration
Set up a system of pensions for the elderly; payments to unemployed, dependents, and people with disabilities.
