Prosocial Behaviour
Is characterised as voluntary behaviour intended to help others, which can be motivated by a multitude of reasons
Altruism
Is the idea of unselfish prosocial behaviour where an individual does something at a cost to themselves to benefit another.
Bystander
Someone who simply stand by and allows the emergency to happen without offering assistance
Bystander effect
Occurs when the presence of others discourages an individual from intervening in emergencies. We are more likely to conform to what the large group is doing. Individuals are also likely to not become involved in order to protect themselves
