Production Manager
- oversees all production personnel: TD, ME, Costume shop, Crew
- runs Tech production rehearsals
- first person in, last person out
Stage Manager
- oversees rehearsal process
- runs tech, puts together prompt book
Prompt Book
a copy of the play on which the production's sound and light cues, blocking notes, and other information needed for rehearsal and performance are recorded.
Entrance and Exit Sheet
used for cues for actors blocking
Sign-in Sheet
when actors/crew arrive for tech
Blocking Notation
symbols and abbreviations used to indicate blocking
Rehearsal Reports
goes out after each rehearsal
Paper Tech
A rehearsal without sets or actors, used to allow the technical and design team to discuss aspects of the show
Dry Tech
typically run to practice the integration of lighting, scenic changes, etc.
Cue to Cue
start at the beginning of the play, miss out parts of dialogue where nothing technical happens (eg no cues) and then skip forward to where something does happen
Calling Script
indicates the cues for lighting, props, and music on the script
Run Sheet
tells the crew everything that happens onstage or backstage during scene changes
