Relays info between CNS and parts of the body. 12 cranial nerves and 31 pairs of spinal nerves

What does the CNS do?

Receives, processes and responds to sensory input

Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)

internal organs and glands, such as the heart, stomach and intestines, functions in involuntary action

Somatic Nervous System (SNS)

sense organs and voluntary muscles
