sprain

A condition in which the ligaments that hold joints together are damaged

dislocation

The displacement of a bone from its joint

osteochondroma

Most common form of benign tumor in skeletal system, comprised of cartilage and bone, occurs before affecting other bone, grows out like mushrooms

osteosarcoma

Highly malignant and aggressive tumor, mostly occurs in people younger than 20, begins in osteoblasts of long bones mostly.

osteonecrosis

Death of bone tissue due to lack of blood supply.

osteopenia

Condition of reduced bone mass greater than expected, not dangerous yet.

osteomyelitis

Acute or chronic infection within the bone, most commonly affecting the legs, arms, pelvis, and spine. Can be due to vascular inefficiency, direct contamination of open fracture, from bacteria in bloodstream.

osteomalacia

Condition of bone softening due to lack of vitamin D, calcium, and phosphates. Signs may be muscle weakness and pain in bone.

arthritis

Condition in which joints become inflamed leading to swelling and tenderness. Most common form is osteoarthritis with rheumatoid arthritis being an autoimmune disease.
