one of the oldest + largest denoms. Head is the Pope who is the bishop of Rome and he lives in the vatican. they do traditions like confession and communion/the eucharist

started in England. anglican church. head is archbishop of Canterbury. unique way of worshipping

Protestantism facts

Emphasises importance of reading Bible + having direct relationship wiht God. many branches each w/ own practices and beliefs.

One god

monotheism. also this extract from the bible: '[…] you shall have no other gods before me'. and nicene creed: 'we believe in one god' which is simpler.

God - traits and stuff

creator + sustainer of the world, created humans to have a relationship with them + guide them, often masc presentation because he's seen as stereotypical masc. - strength + power. but he also has some stereotypical fem in caring and loving too

inconsistent triad

evil existing, god being omnipotent, god being omnibenevolent.

why is the inconsistent triad an issue?

if he's so powerful and loving, he'd do something about the evil. that or he isn't powerful/isn't loving/doesn't exist

responses to moral evil

not our place to judge God!!, our free will, not his fault, can you really have good without evil? light without darkness? pain makes beauty shine so much brighter, the whole original sin mess, because of the devil//Satan, god suffers with youuu

if divine = above human, then jesus = ??? if divine = perfect, original sin in humans = imperfection, so jesus = ???

due to his nature, he can do both. also because he's willing to take on this burden he's really nice + loves us a lot

palm sunday - jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey.

monday - anger from cheating, turned over table

wednesday - went to home of a friend, who he possibly healed

maundy thursday - last supper. Judas betrays Jesus, he is arrested

saturday - disciples hid out of fear of being arrested.
