Isotopes
Are variants of a particular chemical element which have the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons.
Atomic Weight
Is calculated from the atomic mass and the natural abundance of each isotope.
Halogens
Nonmetals found in group 17 (7A) of the periodic table, known for being colorful and corrosive.
Alkaline Earth Metals
Elements found in group 2 (2A) of the periodic table that are lustrous and silvery.
Alkali Metals
Shiny, soft metals located in group 1 (1A) of the periodic table that react strongly with water.
Noble Gases
Gases in group 18 (8A) of the periodic table known for their lack of chemical reactivity.
Main group elements
Elements that typically possess similar chemical properties found in the same vertical columns of the periodic table.
