Civilization in the context of sports refers to how organized physical activity became structured and set into place into lots of systems like education, industry and normal life.
Falkland Islands
Falkland Islands are a British overseas territory in the South Atlantic Ocean. It consists of an archipelago of two main islands and numerous other smaller ones.
World Cup
The first World Cup was hosted in 1930 in Uruguay. Uruguay defeated Argentina, and England was not in it due to being removed from FIFA.
Issues came up on how FIFA chose the countries, being controversial on what political powers they were supporting.
The World Cup had scandals like the 1934 World Cup that was hosted in Italy. There was a lot of controversy due to bribing officials. Mussolini played a big role in ensuring Italy won.
Professionalization in sports
Professionalization in sports means having respect for your teammates, opposing teammates, and the nature of the game you’re playing as a whole.

Former American tennis player. Affair with women affected how people perceived her, especially back then most were conservative. Tennis became more commercialized.

But, places like Brazil desegregated for the means of being great in the sport by finding people with talent of all races and all classes

Soccer as propaganda
Mussolini utilized soccer and stadium as a tool of propagating Fascism to people. Not only hosting major events at the stadium brought people together and emphasized fascism but also defeating other countries in the World Cup shows the superiority of Fascism to other countries as well.
