Transversal
A line that intersects two or more lines
Interior Angles
Angles that are between the two parallel lines
Alternate Interior Angles
Angles between the parallel lines, but on opposite sides of the transversal (make a Z shape)
consecutive (same side) interior angles
Angles between the parallel lines and on the same side of the transversal
Corresponding Angles
Angles in the same relative position with respect to the transversal (elevator angles)
Exterior Angles
Angles on the outsides of the parallel lines
Alternate Exterior Angles
Angles on the outside of the parallel lines and on the opposite side of the transversal
Consecutive "Same Side" Exterior Angles
Angles on the outside of the parallel lines but on the same side of the transversal
Linear Pairs(Supplementary Angles)
Angles next to each other that add up to 180 (make a line)
Same Side Interior Angles Rule
If lines are parallel, then same side interior angles are supplementary(two angles equal to 180 degrees).
Supplementary Angles
Two angles that add to 180 degrees
Complementary Angles
Two angles that add to 90 degrees
Alternate Interior Angles
Angles formed when two lines intersect and the opposite angles are congruent(Equal).
Vertical Angles
Angles formed when two lines intersect and the opposite angles are congruent(Equal).
