What is “Plot”?
What the Epic Poem is about, normally about an Epic Hero who embodies the values from where the Epic Poem is from. (Honorable, Unbeatable, Courageous, etc.)
What does the Plot have?
The plot usually contains impossible feats and accomplishments unachievable by any average human.
What are Archtypes?
Archtypes are repeated tropes or cliches that appear in many Epics.
What are the Literary Devices epic poems use?
Kennings, Alliteration and Caesura
What are “Kennings”?
They are figurative phrases, somewhat like a title, used to describe people/places/things
What is “Alliteration”?
Alliteration is when a poem repeats consonants to emphasize. (Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers)
What is a “Caesura”?
Caesura is an audible pause or a break in verse
