What was the Stamp Act?
The Stamp Act is when the British Parliament taxed colonists on printed paper. Whenever a colonist paid a tax, an offiical would mark it with a big stamp
Why did colonists despise it?
Because they didn’t like paying for everyday things, and they thought it was unfair because it was taxation without representation. They also never got anything in return.
How did the colonists protest?
Colonists scared off tax collectors and harmed them. Many colonists protested in groups.
