Mountain
High landforms that rise steeply above the surrounding land, often formed by tectonic plate movement or volcanic activity.
Absolute Location
A specific location defined by coordinates, such as latitude and longitude.
Latitude
Imaginary horizontal lines encircling Earth, measured in degrees north or south of the Equator.
Longitude
Imaginary vertical lines running from North Pole to South Pole, measured in degrees east or west of the Prime Meridian.
Equator
An imaginary horizontal line around the middle of Earth at 0° latitude, dividing it into Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Pacific Ring of Fire
An area in the Pacific Ocean basin characterized by frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
Tropical Climate
A climate characteristic of regions just north of the Equator, warm and humid with distinct wet and dry seasons.
Fossil Fuels
Energy sources formed from ancient remains; includes coal, petroleum, and natural gas.
Geothermal Energy
Energy derived from the Earth's internal heat, a renewable source used for electricity generation.
Hydroelectric Power
Electricity generated by flowing water turning turbines.
Biogas
A renewable energy source produced from the decomposition of organic waste in anaerobic conditions.
Solar Power
Energy harnessed from sunlight, converted into electricity using solar panels.
