Cell Membrane
The outer layer of animal cells that controls the movement of substances into and out of the cell.
Cytoplasm
A jelly-like substance around 70% water that fills the space inside the cell and contains many dissolved substances.
Nucleus
The structure located in the center of animal cells that controls all the activities of the cell.
Vacuoles
Fluid-filled sacs that can store substances and help maintain the cell's rigidity in plant cells.
Cell Wall
The tough, outermost structure in plant cells that provides shape and support.
Chloroplasts
Organelles found in the cytoplasm of plant cells that absorb water and are the site of photosynthesis.
