Reversible Reactions and how are they presented (⇌)
In some chemical reactions, the products of the reaction can react together to produce the original reactants. These reactions are called reversible reactions
They can be represented in the following way:
A + B ⇌ C + D
What does this symbol mean ⇌ 😒
Reversible reactions…The arrows point both ways meaning the forward reaction is one that goes right the backwards reaction is the one that left
Energy changes in reversible reactions
If a reaction is exothermic in one direction, it will be endothermic in the other direction.
The equilibrium position can be changed by changing the reaction conditions through:
changing the pressure
changing the concentration
changing the temperature
