Foxtails - Annual

Seedheads are bushy spikes.
- Yellow foxtail has long hairs on the upper surface of the leaf blade near the base
Sheaths are reddish near the base

Sedges are gross like plants that have triangular stems and yellow - green color
Sedge reproduce by seed rhizomes and small tubers

Annual (Crabgrass) (Goose grass)
- Seedheads appear as several fingerlike spikes at the end of each stalk
The spreading flat growth of crabgrass tends to crowd out desirable grasses
Crabgrass is Killed by the first frost leaving unsightly dead patches in turf.
Goose grass can be identified by the zipper like seedhead that is different from crabgrass.

Creeping oxalis has purplish leaves
