because it showed that laws made by parliament can be overturned by another authority
YES BUT point considering the undermining of parliamentary sovereignty
did not render parliament sovereignty meaningless because parliament retained ultimate legislative authority and could repeal the European Communities Act 1972
( was repealed in 2018 with the EU withdrawal Act)
