Alkali metal compounds
are ALL soluble (Alkali Metals are on the first column of the periodic table)
NH₄⁺ compounds
are ALL soluble
Compounds containing Nitrate(NO₃⁻), Chlorate(ClO₃⁻), and Perchlorate(CIO₄⁻)
are ALL soluble
OH⁻ compounds
are INSOLUBLE, with exceptions of Alkali Metal hydroxide compounds and Barium Hydroxide(Ba(OH)₂)
Chlorides(Cl⁻), Bromides(Br⁻), and Iodides(I⁻)
are SOLUBLE, with exceptions of Silver(Ag⁺), Mercurous(Hg₂²⁺), and Plumbous(Pb²⁻) compounds.
Carbonate(CO₃²⁻), Phosphate(PO₄³⁻), and Sulfide(S²⁻) compounds
are INSOLUBLE, with exceptions of Alkali Metal compounds (Alkali Metals are on the first column of the periodic table)

are SOLUBLE, with the exceptions of Barium(Ba²⁺), Mercuric(Hg²⁺), and Plumbous(Pb²⁻) compounds.
Synthesis/combination reactions
2 reactants form 1 product.
General form: A+X=AX
Abbreviated "syn"
Decomposition reactions
1 reactant forms 2 products.
General form: AX=A+X
Abbreviated "decomp"
Double Displacement/Double Replacement
2 reactants form 2 products. Ions switch what they are bonded to.
General form: AX+BY=AY+BX
Abbreviated "DD" or "DR"
Single Displacement
2 reactants, one of which is a cation or anion, may be switched with the other reactant.
Use activity series of metals and remember that F₂>Cl₂>Br₂>I₂.
Have fun fighting cats and playing Halo.
Decomp reaction with Metal Hydroxide
Products are metal oxide and water.
Decomp reaction with Metal Chlorate
Products are metal chloride and O₂
Syn reaction with Metal Oxide and Water
Product is metal hydroxide
Complete Combustion reaction
Only products are CO₂ and H₂O
