CRAAP Test
A method for evaluating the credibility and relevance of information based on Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose.
Currency
The timeliness of the information; involves checking the publication date and any updates.
Relevance
The importance of the information for your needs; considers if the content is appropriate for the audience.
Authority
The source of the information, including the author's qualifications and the publisher's reliability.
Accuracy
The reliability, truthfulness, and correctness of the content; includes verifying information with other sources.
Purpose
The reason the information exists; assesses whether it is fact, opinion, or propaganda.
Emotive Language
Words and phrases used to elicit emotions from the audience.
Ethos
The credibility established by a speaker to gain the audience's trust.
Logos
The use of facts and data to support an argument.
Student Achievement
The success and performance of students as influenced by various factors including homework duration.
Quality of Work
The standard or grade of a student's work, which can decrease under heavy homework loads.
Critical Thinking
The objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment, which homework should encourage.
Educational Value
The meaningfulness and relevance of assignments related to students' personal interests and goals.
Premium
The amount paid for a health care plan, typically on a monthly basis.
Deductible
The amount a patient pays for health care services before the insurance begins to pay.
Co-payment
The fixed amount a patient pays for a specific service, such as a doctor's visit.
Benefits
The positive aspects of a health care plan, such as coverage and preventative services.
Drawbacks
The negative aspects of a health care plan, such as expensive premiums or limited coverage.
