Human Resources
Human beings are considered the most important resource of a country as they contribute towards its growth and development.
Growth Rate of Population
The difference between birth and death rates.
Low Sex Ratio
In India, the sex ratio is 940 females per 1000 males due to age-old traditions unfavorable to women.
Mass Migration
The movement of people from rural areas to urban areas due to lack of employment and basic infrastructure.
Life Expectancy
The number of years a person is likely to live, which has increased due to improved living conditions and medical facilities.
Population Distribution Factors
Physical features, climate, resources, and industrialization are the main factors affecting population distribution.
Population Density
The number of people living in one square kilometer of land.
Densely Populated Areas
Regions with high population concentrations, such as the Indian sub-continent, China, and Japan.
Moderately Populated Areas
Regions with a medium level of population concentration, such as Central USA and South Africa.
Sparsely Populated Areas
Regions with very low population density, such as deserts and polar regions.
Urbanization
The process attracting people from rural areas to cities in search of better job opportunities and living standards.
Migration
The mass movement of people from one area to another, often influenced by factors such as employment and natural disasters.
