CXR
Chest X-Ray, a radiographic image of the chest used for diagnosis.
Consolidation
An area of lung tissue filled with fluid, which may indicate pneumonia.
Pleural Effusion
Accumulative fluid in the pleural space, often visible on chest imaging.
Atelectasis
Collapsed lung tissue, leading to volume loss visible on chest radiographs.
Cardiomegaly
Enlargement of the heart, often indicated on chest X-rays by an increased cardiothoracic ratio.
Emphysema
A form of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease characterized by the destruction of air spaces.
Pneumothorax
Air in the pleural space, which can lead to lung collapse and difficulty in breathing.
CT scan
Computed Tomography scan, an imaging modality that provides detailed cross-sectional images.
IV Contrast
Intravenous contrast agents used to enhance the visibility of structures in imaging studies.
Pulmonary Embolus
A blockage in a pulmonary artery, often due to a blood clot from the legs.
Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease
Heart disease caused by chronic high blood pressure, leading to left ventricular hypertrophy.
