Morality
The quality or fact of conforming to or deriving from right ideals of human conduct.
Quality
Implies a standard or norm by which we measure or judge an action.
Standard
Level or quality that is considered acceptable, usual, or expected.
Norm
Typical, common, or accepted in a group or society.
Conduct
Refers to human beings’ action.
Conscience
The power to judge whether something is good or bad.
Determinant of Morality: Subject
Intention: Why the agent does the act—what end or goal he or she seeks (purpose, motive, or subjective aim).
Determinant of Morality: Circumstance
Particular conditions surrounding the act (who, when, where, how, with what means, how much). Can aggravate or mitigate moral responsibility but cannot change an intrinsically evil act into a good one.
Determinant of Morality: Object
What the agent does (the act itself, the kind of act). It is the chosen action in itself (e.g., lying, stealing, helping).
Level of Moral Motivation: Fear-centered
Motivation by fear: fear of punishment, consequences, judgment, or retribution.
Level of Moral Motivation: Pity-centered
Motivation by compassion, empathy, pity, or sympathy for others’ suffering.
Level of Moral Motivation: Principle-centered
Motivation by principle, duty, moral law, or commitment to justice/truth, regardless of one’s emotions or personal danger.

Motivation by faith, divine love, union with God, supernatural motive, hope, or spiritual conviction.
Freedom
The ability to say yes or no to the choices life presents.
Internal Freedom
The ability to become what you want.
External Freedom
The ability to do what you want to do.

Overwhelming desire for wealth and power.

A philosophy or way of life that rejects materialism, characterized by minimal consumption, environmental responsibility, and community cooperation.

Rejects products and things that oppress and violate the land and its people.

Supports activities which result to greater productivity and will benefit pro-people and pro-earth individuals.
Good Steward Trait: Consultative Leadership
A good leader is someone who consults his/her team for opinions and opportunities to improve for the benefit of all.
Step in Moral Decision: PAUSE
Gives us time and space to think. (Socrates: “An unreflected life is a life not worth living.”)

Ask questions in order to reveal the reality or draw out the facts of our acts (nature, intentions, and circumstances).
Step in Moral Decision: PONDER
We cup our hands and look at what we have gathered (reflection).
Step in Moral Decision: PEOPLE CHECK
Need for humility to accept that we do not know everything; consult other persons about moral problems and issues.

The whole decision making can be a response of prayer; a prayerful disposition and an overall attitude.
