Positive
any number greater than zero
Negative
any number less than zero
Whole Number
any number that can be written without a fractional/decimal component. Ex: 1,2,5,10,100
Integer
the whole numbers and their opposites (negatives included)
Even
any integer divisible by 2
Odd
any integer not divisible by 2
Sum
the result of two numbers being added
Difference
the result of one number being subtracted from another
Product
the result of two numbers being multiplied
Quotient
the result of one number being divided by another
Factor
a number that is multiplied to form the product. Ex. 2 and 3 are factors of 6
Greatest Common Factor
the greatest whole number that is a factor of two or more numbers. Ex 6 is the GCF of 24 and 30
Multiples
the product of two factors. Ex. 6 is a multiple of 2 and 3
Least Common Multiple (LCM)
the least whole number that is a multiple of two or more numbers
Prime
Whole numbers greater than one that only have 2 divisors, 1 and itself
Composite
Whole numbers divisible by more than just one and itslef
Real
all positive and negative numbers and zero
Rational
any number that can be expressed as a fraction/decimial. ex. 1/2, -3, -0.75
Irrational
real numbers that are cannot be a fraction, non-repeating, non-terminating. Ex. Pi, square root of 2
