point
A location in space with no size or shape.
line
A straight path that extends infinitely in both directions and has no endpoints.
plane
A flat, two-dimensional surface that extends without end in all directions.
angle
A figure formed by two rays that share a common endpoint (the vertex).
segment
The part of a line between two endpoints.
parallel lines
Two lines in the same plane that never intersect.
perpendicular lines
Two lines that intersect to form right angles (90 degrees).
hypotenuse
The longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle.
ray
Part of a line that starts at an endpoint and extends infinitely in one direction.
vertex
The common endpoint of two rays that form an angle, or the intersection point of two lines.
adjacent angles
Two angles that share a common vertex and a common side and lie in the same plane without overlapping interiors.
