Compression Force
The range of pressure applied through compression therapy, typically measured in mmHg.
Upper Extremity (UE) Compression
Recommended compression force of 30-60 mmHg for the upper limbs.
Lower Extremity (LE) Compression
Recommended compression force of 40-80 mmHg for the lower limbs.
Post Traumatic Edema
Swelling that occurs after an injury, requiring lower compression initially for treatment.
On/Off Time Ratio for Lymphedema
The recommended ratio of 3:1 for on and off times during treatment of lymphedema, edema, venous stasis, or DVT prevention.
On/Off Time Ratio for Residual Limb Shaping
The recommended ratio of 4:1 for on and off times for shaping of residual limbs.
Compression Duration
Initial recommended duration is 1 hour, adjustable to achieve clinical outcomes of 1-4 hours.
Frequency of Compression Therapy
Start frequency at 1 time per day, adjustable to 3 times per week to 4 times per day based on clinical needs.
Desired Clinical Outcome
Goals of compression therapy, including effective edema control and wound healing.
