What causes static electricity?

Caused by two non-conductive materials being rubbed together, causing an imbalance in the charges. If neither material is a good conductor the charge stays on the surface of the material.

What is dynamic electricity?

What is electrostatic force?

the forced created between two charged bodies

Is electrostatic force attractive or repulsive?

Either, it depends on the charge.

The strength of an electrostatic field is directly proportional to?

It is directly proportional to the strength of the charge.

What affects the strength of an electrostatic field?

The distance between the two charged objects

An imbalance of charges will always strive for?

Equilibrium

How does an imbalance of charge reach equilibrium.

Through electrostatic discharge, or contact with another body.

What is a nuisance static charge?

A static charge that builds up unintentionally on people's bodies or aircraft.

What is a useful static charge?

When static charges are used intentionally like when spray painting.
