Specialized connective tissue that lines the inner surface of the joints

Periosteum

Dense layer of vascular connective tissue enveloping the bones

What’s a ligament?

Fibrous connective tissue connecting two bones

What’s a sprain

A sprain is an injury to a ligament, when it is stretched beyond its limit or torn

What’s a dislocation?

Displacement of a bone from its normal position in a joint

Joint

Site where 2+ bones make contact

Strain

Muscle is stretched or torn, affects muscle tissue only

Tendon

Connect muscles to bones, can be overstretched and when damaged, reduces muscle effectiveness

Where are smooth muscles found

Digestive system, the stomach, intestines, esophagus, cardiovascular system like blood vessels and lymphatic vessels 

Cardiac muscles

Found exclusively in the heart, making up the walls of all four chambers
