Transudate
Collection of fluid in tissue or in a body space caused by increased hydrostatic or decreased osmotic pressure in the vascular system without a loss of protein into the tissue. They are watery with low protein content
Exudates
The result of increased osmotic pressure in the tissue because of high protein content and are caused by inflammation or obstruction of lymphatic flow
Purulent exudates (pus)
are exudates that are loaded with live and dead leukocytes.
Suppurative inflammation
is an inflammation with a lot of purulent exudates.
Abscess
