Aim

Understand the effects that the removal of tissue from the medial temporal lobe (including hippocampus) had on HM.

Procedure

• MRI in later studies

Results

• HM could not acquire new episodic or semantic knowledge.

• Procedural memories were well maintained (could learn new skills).

• Capacity for working memory (could have a convo).

• Temporal lobe including hippocampus had most damage.
