LAV SMOKE DETECTOR & FIRE Procedure
Carefully feel different areas of the door (with the back of hand) to estimate heat intensity & location of fire.
If LAV is locked - knock & ask PAX to step out. Use discretion & do not embarrass PAX. Silence cabin alerts if possible when time permits. Notify FFA, who will notify PIC.
If door is cool - carefully open door, check for fire & extinguish if needed.
If door is hot - keep door closed & use crash axe to make a hole (or cautiously crack open door open just enough to discharge the extinguisher), extinguish fire. Continue to monitor until red indicator light on smoke detector or indicator on CAP clears.
Smoke detector will reset & become sensitive to smoke again once smoke is no longer detected.
Fill out IF Incident Report.
FA Responsibilities
IMD: Operable, battery at least 80% at the start of duty & 30% prior to each flight leg, Content App is updated, iOS is updated, IFM is updated & sync’d prior to the beginning of each duty day.
Read & understand all IFM updates, revisions, bullets, etc.
Read & understand all emails prior to the beginning of each duty day.
Uniform compliance.
FA Consumption of Alcohol or Drugs
FA may NOT:

What is Sterile FD?
From pushback thru taxi & takeoff to 10,000 ft.
And from 10,000 ft thru landing, taxi, & block-in.
Communication between FD & FA is restricted to safe operation of A/C & emergency situations. Non-safety information is prohibited.
FD is NOT sterile during lengthy ground holds when A/C is not moving or while at cruise below 10,000 ft.
What is the indication for Sterile FD?
One chime as the A/C ascends & descends at the 10,000 ft level.
What is the FA 30 Second Review & when is it done?
It is a mental & physical readiness exercise that is done in J/S prior to takeoff & landing.

Disengage secondary latch & lower center J/S headrest pad. Exposing the emergency door control handle with red plastic cover.
Verify.
FA2 visually crosschecks own door.
717 - To DISARM Tailcone
Raise center J/S headrest pad, exposing the normal door control handle, & engage secondary latch.

Pull the Tailcone Jettison Handle to the right of the slide when facing AFT, about two feet above the ground.
Get into protect position A/C R & stomp twice on the tailcone separation with one foot.
Pull the red release handle front of the slide container & roll out slide.
Pull red manual inflation handle.
IF TAILCONE CANNOT BE USED
Return to door, DISARM, lock & secure using normal door control handle, install AFT barrier strap, & redirect PAX.

Rotate the Door Control Handle in the direction of the red arrow.
Pull the door inward & latch with the Hold Open Latch.

Release the door from the Hold Open Latch.

Assess.
Facing AFT, pull the handle with one hand & handhold with the other hand.
Lift the window & allow it to fall inward onto shoulder.
Turn & throw the window out of the A/C opening.
Instruct PAX to step out leg body leg & to stay close to the body of the A/C. Then, slide off the wing toward the back of the A/C.

Pull black ball handle AFT to disengage lock.
Pull black ball handle inboard.
