What is Thermodynamics?
The branch of physics that deals with heat and its relation to other forms of energy and work.
What is the First Law of Thermodynamics?
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred or changed from one form to another. It is also known as the Law of Conservation of Energy.
What is the Second Law of Thermodynamics?
The total entropy (disorder) of an isolated system can only increase over time, or remain constant in ideal cases. It can never decrease. This law implies that heat spontaneously flows from hotter to colder bodies.
What is Enthalpy (H)?
A thermodynamic property defined as the sum of a system's internal energy (U) and the product of its pressure (P) and volume (V). Mathematically, it is expressed as H = U + PV.
