A statement of response to a questions or a prompt

Claim

A point you are trying to make that you hope will prove you are right

Counterclaim

A possible point in order to refute your claim

Claim, Answer

Politics

Considered to be the actions taken in the formation and maintenance of a state or governing entity

Political Issue

A question that deals with how power is distributed and how it operates within  a social organisation, and how people think about and engage in their communities and the wider world on matter that affect their lives. 

Actor

Any stakeholder that has an influence on global politics

Power

The ability to effect change in the world. Includes the ability to influence other groups in political situations.  

Sovereignty

Characterises a state's independence, its control over territory, and its ability to govern itself. 

Legitimacy

An actor or an action being considered acceptable in existence, placement, and power.

Interdependence

Mutual reliance between and among groups, organisations, and countries. 

Hard Power

The use of military and sanctions forced against a group, country, etc.

Soft Power

The use of influence and/or persuasion against a group, country, etc.

Smart Power

A balance of hard and soft power together to achieve its aims

Relational Power

When a state has a relationship with another state and used this relationship to influence the other state to change its behaviour. 

Cyber Power

Utilising technology to try and influence each other.  

Sharp Power

An approach to international affairs that typically involves at censorship or the use of manipulation to undermine the integrity of independent institutions. 

Structural Power

States influence the political idea, structures, and frameworks of global politics. 

Economic Power

The countries, or collective's access to wealth, natural resources, monopoly powers, or superior technology. Also refers to the country's ability to improve living standards in their country, 

Social/Cultural Power

Influencing views, values, conventions, and actions of individuals or groups through cultural manifestations, media, trends, and societal structure is referred to as cultural and social power.
