In line with the Gender and Development (GAD) mandate as stipulated in the 1987 Philippine Constitution Republic Act No. 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women (MCW), RA 10533 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, and the Philippines’ International HUman Rights Commitments to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and the Convention on the Rights of Child (CRC) among others.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

Curriculum-based process of teaching about cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects of sexuality that is scientific, age-and-developmentally appropriate, culturally and gender responsive, and with rights-based approach.

The symbol of the Roman god Mars (God of War) is often used to represent the male sex. It also stands for the planet Mars and is the alchemical symbol for iron.

The symbol of the Roman goddess Venus (Goddess of Love) is commonly used to represent the female sex and is the alchemical symbol for copper.

The first transgender symbol combines certain elements of the male and female gender symbols, with some alterations.
