Levellers

Believed in quality for all

• Made up of Parliament men and those who worked on lands.

• All men over the age of 21 should be able to vote!

• Most support, eventually it decreased and the group was shut down by Parliament.

Quakers (Society of Friends)

Most popular, as followers shook at religious experience.

• Disliked the hierarchy of the church, believing the ‘inner light’ of god could be found in all

• Allowed women(e. Margaret Fell) To preach.

• Quakers still exist to this day.

Diggers

Believed the earth was common treasury to all men and women to share.

• Planted crops on common lands(unused)

• Consisted of 20-30 people

• Elites disliked how they challenged the British Hierarchy.

• Defeated in 1650s by legislations

Ranters

No historical evidence of true existence

• They believe that God has decided all actions, deciding sin. Therefore, sinning meant following God’s will

• There were only pamphlets to proof existence, so proof was limited.
