rebellion - 1920 attempt to seize power, army refused to intervene
ending - ebert appealed to left wing groups, people striked and refused to cooperate with freikorps, kapp fled to exile and many leaders escaped unpunished

ruhr crisis - 1923-25

cause - france and belgium wanted to regain late reparations payments
results - passive resistance failed, industrial production fell and economy weaker

hyperinflation

causes - govt printed more money for passive resistance and reparations, currency became worthless
results - middle class badly hit as savings lost, blamed government and lost faith in weimar republic
