Synthesis/Combination

The combination of two reactants to produce one product.

Decomposition

When one reactant breaks down into two or more products.

Single-Replacement

When one ion replaces another ion to produce a new compound and element.

Double-Replacement

When both ions in two compounds switch to produce two new compounds.

Combustion

The burning of a carbon compound in the presence of oxygen. The product of a combustion is CO2 and H2O
